Abhinav Pandrate / Shopify case study
Charlie Oven store
I look after the store day to day: custom theme sections, a recipe blog, reviews pages and a map of stockists.
Role: Shopify Developer & E-commerce Lead
Year: 2025–now
Problem
Charlie ovens cost thousands of pounds, so people want to see what they can cook, read what owners think and find one to look at in person before buying. The store needed pages for all of that, built so the team can keep editing them in the theme editor.
What I built
- Custom Online Store 2.0 sections and blocks with settings the team edits without touching code
- A recipe blog backed by metaobjects, filterable by cooking method (bake, grill, roast, smoke, braise, sear)
- Reviews pages that collect owner reviews in one place
- A stockist map built on Leaflet that only loads when it scrolls into view, with a country filter
- Theme changes go through pull requests on GitHub and are checked at phone and desktop widths before they go live
Stack
Shopify, Liquid, Online Store 2.0, Metaobjects, JavaScript, Leaflet
Outcome
- Custom OS 2.0 sections and templates, including the recipe blog, the reviews pages and the stockist map
- A colour-gallery system rolled out across 22 products
What I learned
Shipping theme changes from Git with review beats editing live in the admin.
